What to put in a grant pitch deck

Investor decks sell a vision. Grant decks prove a plan. The committee wants to know you can hit the milestones and account for the money.

The 8 slides

  1. Problem — specific, evidenced, and relevant to the scheme's mandate.
  2. Solution — what you're building, at what technology-readiness level.
  3. Innovation — what's genuinely new (this is scored).
  4. Milestones — 3–5, each with a date and a deliverable.
  5. Use of funds — a table mapping each tranche to a milestone and cost head.
  6. Team — why you can execute this.
  7. Impact — jobs, users served, ecosystem effect. Quantify it.
  8. Traction — pilots, LOIs, prior grants, anything that de-risks you.

Common rejections

  • Vague milestones ("build the product").
  • A budget that doesn't add up to the amount requested.
  • Innovation slide that's really a features list.

Keep it to those eight. Committees read dozens per cycle.
