DPIIT recognition is the gate to the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, tax exemptions, and a long list of state programmes. It's free.

You're eligible if

  • The company is a Private Limited, LLP, or registered Partnership.
  • It's less than 10 years old.
  • Annual turnover has never crossed ₹100 crore.
  • It's not formed by splitting up or reconstructing an existing business.
  • It's working towards innovation — a new product, process, or service, or a scalable improvement.

What you'll upload

DocumentNotes
Certificate of incorporationPDF from the MCA portal
PAN of the entity
A short write-upWhat you're building and why it's innovative
Website / deck / videoOptional but strongly recommended

After you're recognised

You get a certificate with a DPIIT number. Keep it handy — nearly every grant application asks for it, and incubators verify it before shortlisting.
